Miscellaneous
  • An uchigatana forged by Suishinshi Masahide, one of the famous swordsmiths of the "Edo Sansaku" based in Edo. He has high ideals and spares no effort to prove himself worthy of being the ancestor of the Shinshintou. However, he still lacks experience, and his true character is shown when his guard is down.
  • Although the game's lore treats him like a real sword, there aren't any specific anecdotes concerning a sword by the name of Suishinshi Masahide. Instead, he is most likely meant to be a representation of the swordsmith Suishinshi Masahide, as evidenced by the fact that he, as a Touken Danshi, is said to have inherited many of Masahide's characteristics upon manifesting.
    • Along with Minamoto Kiyomaro and Taikei Naotane, who also likely represent their swordsmiths of the same name, he is officially referred to as one of the "Edo Sansaku", which was swordsmith Suishinshi Masahide's title.
  • Katsu Kaishuu is said to be the owner of one of Suishinishi Masahide's swords. However, because he was more active in politics, it's said that Katsu Kaishuu has never used it in combat.
    • This is most likely the reason Suishinshi Masahide is said to be inexperienced and becomes nervous at the prospect of being sent into a real battle.
